A two-year veteran of the Seacoast Spartans organization, forward T.J. Sullivan is excited to announce his NCAA Division III commitment to Roger Williams University. The Hawks will embark on their first varsity campaign in the 2025-26 season.
Sullivan, a Melrose, Mass., native, played for the Spartans last season in the EHL before the team made the move to the NCDC this year. In 56 games played for the Spartans this season, he tallied 22 total points (11 goals, 11 assists) and was a key piece to their offense.
“Obviously, on paper it wasn’t a great year for us,” said Sullivan. “But we had a great group of guys and it was a lot of fun playing with those guys. I chose Seacoast because of how well we did the year before and we had such a great group of guys, most of which I didn’t get to keep playing with this year because of us making the jump to the NCDC. But, luckily I still had a few of the guys from last year to come back and make it a fun year.”
Sullivan started talking to the Roger Williams coaching staff back in November and things really took off from there.
“The coach at Roger Williams is big on building a good culture off the ice, which is very important to him,” said Sullivan. “On the ice he loved my size, physicality and me being a full 200-foot player.”
Sullivan was drawn to Roger Williams for many different reasons. He liked that this will be the school’s inaugural hockey season, the location in Bristol, R.I., and the academic programs the school offered. Sullivan will also be a two-sport athlete as he will play lacrosse as well.
“I’m so excited to get the chance to play for Coach Chris Hall,” said Sullivan. “He is a great guy and knows what he is doing. Also getting the chance to play for a program that is going to be brand new and have a chance to make history. I also get the chance to continue my lacrosse career at Roger Williams which I am really excited about. Then, lastly, being able to study construction management felt like that was the right fit for me academically and for my future.”
Sullivan is also close to home being at Roger Williams and right when he stepped foot on campus, he knew it was the place for him.
“As you take the ride over the bridge into Bristol, you can just tell this is a great area,” said Sullivan. “Once I stepped foot on campus and walked around, I had just known it was for me especially since it is right on the water with a lot of scenic views. I knew it was a special spot.”
Sullivan is excited to start his journey next season at Roger Williams and is going to do whatever it takes to be an impact player.
The NCDC congratulates T.J. Sullivan, his family, the Seacoast Spartans and Roger Williams University for his commitment.
