NCDC Players Of The Week: New England Division

Games of Oct. 29-Nov. 4, 2024

 

Forward: Cameron Stehle, Islanders Hockey Club 

Stehle (‘06/Raleigh, N.C.) put up three goals and added one assist during the Islanders’ two-game three-point showing against the Boston Jr. Rangers on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1. He improved to 13 points in 15 games this season, his first with IHC. 

 

Defense: Jason Shafer, Seacoast Spartans

A fifth-year NCDC veteran, Shafer (‘04/Westmoreland, N.Y.) put up an assist in each of the Seacoast Spartans’ two games, which they won against each of the Boston Jr. Rangers and Worcester Railers JHC. He has six points in 13 games this year, and has played in 129 NCDC games since 2021-22.  

 

Goaltender: Lukas Fursten, South Shore Kings

Recently named the NCDC New England Goaltender of the Month for October, Fursten already began building his November case by stopping 46 of 47 shots faced from the Utica Jr. Comets on Nov. 1. That was his 10th straight victory of the season for a 10-1-0-0 record. 

 

Rookie: Brennan Cail, South Shore Kings

Cail (‘05/Cheshire, Conn.) is a recent addition for the Kings. The former Hotchkiss School Captain has three points in five games, and put up a goal and an assist for his first multi-point junior game on Nov. 2 against Utica for the Kings’ 13th straight victory.

 

Selection Process: Team coaches first nominate players, the League sends back finalists, and coaches are then able to further vote on finalists or nominate other players.
